Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS)

When a foreign student's application for admission into a program, module or course of 18 clock hours or more is accepted, the student will be enrolled in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS). An additional fee (SEVIS I-901 fee) will apply and is to be paid online to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Paying the SEVIS fee is very important as without this fee a foreign student will not be eligible to apply for the mandatory M-1 Student Visa. The Siebel Institute Office of the Registrar will provide foreign students with the I-20 Form to present to the consular officer at the time of the visa interview.

Visa requirements

Generally, a student of a foreign country who wishes to enter the United States must first obtain a student visa to study in the United States for programs/courses exceeding 18 clock hours. U.S. federal regulations do not permit to travel on the Visa Waiver Program or Visitor Visas for the purpose of professional studies.
As a SEVP (U.S. Department of Homeland Security) certified vocational school, all foreign students have to apply for a M-1 Student Visa prior to entering/traveling the United States to begin their studies at the Siebel Institute.
It is the foreign student's responsibility to comply with all regulations and pay the necessary fees that include but are not limited to a non-refundable visa application fee.
